The vortex interferes with the bolts.

These should not be used if you plan to install the nut from below as the bolt will interfere with the swivel joint. You have to mount the bolt from below with a carriage bolt so that nothing thick sticks out and prevents the wheel from turning. Not useful for my project as I shouldn't have screws sticking out from the top.
