Review on Effortlessly Roll Out Perfect Pasta with the KitchenAid KSMPSA Pasta Roller Attachment in Elegant Silver - 1 foot Length by Jason Camarillo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is my best buy of 2016!

This was my expensive purchase in 2016! When I bought my 103 year old hotel/cafe two years ago, one of the appliances that came with the cafe was a very old kitchen aid. I would estimate around a model from the 1960s. I've used the old Kitchen Aid a few times, but using the KA was cumbersome and I found it much easier to mix by hand. Well, it's pasta season, I'm making pasta for my coffee shop, and my brother and son are excited for their homemade pasta Christmas gifts. . I started using the KA pasta attachment last week and am now on my third batch. WOW! I used to use a manual pasta roller and looking back what a pain! The KA pasta roller made the whole process smooth, time-saving and easy. I'm going to buy myself a lasagna pasta cutter now as I'm currently cutting pasta with my Marcato Atlas Wellness 150 pasta maker (I'll check this out in a minute). Straight out of the box it's nice and well made. attachment to the KA is not difficult. You remove the round cap from the KA faucet, loosen the set screw, insert it into the KA (has a little tab that ensures the reel is seated properly), then tighten the set screw and you're done! I used it on the lowest speed, made sure the noodles were well floured, and off we went. I think one of the best features was being able to work hands-free without having to manually turn the dough (since the handle slipped out of the pasta maker) to direct the pasta. I will NEVER buy this product again, but I will buy other pasta knives from KA! If anyone is considering buying a KA Pasta Roller, don't hesitate, you won't regret it!
