Pros: These socks are well thought out and affordable. They are available in different colors and all available sizes. Cons: small size. My almost 15 year old Labrador Boxer mix (65lbs) needs a LARGE size for his back legs and an XL size for his front legs. For reference, Kirby wears size L in PAWZ wellies (purple) and size M in Muttluks (yellow all-weather boots). The XL pawks also fit his Pitbull friend but were too small for his German Shepherd friend. The dimensions of Kirby's paws (including toenails) listed on the piece of paper are as follows: Front paws = 2-1/4" wide x 3-1/3" long; Hind feet = 2 inches wide x 3 inches long. That being said (if your dog's paws are within the size range) I find that these socks are not only worth their price, but are a real advantage over many other non-slip dog shoes. . They have a very tight tube that wraps around the ankle and part of the leg (the photo here is misleading; the leg part is actually only about half the width of the foot, and the black striped upper is even slightly narrower and narrower ) So the toe box holds up quite well without squeezing the leg. The ribbed rubber outsole covers the entire underside of the paw pad AND expands around the forefoot to cover 3/4 of the top of the toe, so even if the toe is twisted (which, trust me, always is!) , without losing traction . I also don't mind buying 2 different sizes because I like to have backups in case they need to be washed or wear out. Kirby wore the same 4 socks everyday for 6 weeks on vacation (the house we rent has hardwood floors and we used to ONLY pack a 2nd car to bring all the rubber mats Kirby needed to get around the house but it is a year only we had to pack these socks!) And when we got home the socks were in perfect condition. We also showed them to the staff at our canine rehabilitation center and they liked these socks so much that they are now taking them with them. I hope the manufacturer understands that larger sizes are needed so all dogs can wear these amazing socks!
