Review on Pyle PLTTB3U Belt Drive USB Turntable: Record & Convert Vinyl with Digital Software by Joshua Gulledge

Revainrating 4 out of 5

But don't get me wrong - the sound this product produces is simply outstanding. If you want to get closer to audiophile sound quality.

This is not a Rega Planner 2. But it gets the job done and uses USB for downloading. Haven't determined yet whether or not the weight/balance of the arm and the included shaft will wear down my vinyl but this product puts me out of a bind (my UK voltage/Hz Rega planner doesn't work properly in the US 60Hz) . My lovely wife bought it for me as a surprise birthday present and the first thing I do with it is use USB to archive many of my vinyl records and a 12" disc. You get what you pay for, as opposed to a phono stage. There's plenty of 'juice', but it also has a LINE output selector (on the back) - just don't plug this babe into a line input on a stereo amp when it's in phono mode - yes, it has not that much "juice" but it's enough to hum loudly into your speakers if you forget. The benefit of this product is that the pickup unit is exactly what a true plug-in unit is. So if you can still find a store that sells them , you can upgrade the cassette and maybe add a little more bass and clarity to the sound than the standard cassette offers.
