I wish the legs had adjustable tension; this doesn't seem to be a problem, but the legs twist and straighten very easily; I wonder if they can become freer? The "alloy platform" seems a bit redundant to me. A tripod usually suffices for me, but the screw is much longer than the screw on the "alloy platform" so it rests against the phone grip pad on the phone holder making it difficult to grip. I will either add shims or cut off the extra length. The remote paired with my Android phone almost immediately, but the iPhone SE didn't. Then I found that when I disabled Bluetooth on my Android it worked fine. The "smartphone holder" is not deep enough to use on my OnePlus 6T with "Sucnakp TPU Protective Case with Raised Bezels Cushioning Technology" which is quite a thick case. If I put the mount on the screen and not on the back of the case, it works fine if it only covers part of the screen. it seems to be working so well. I included a bag as a gift with this kit which might be a nice addition, but the tripod itself with a remote strap attached to the tripod leg keeps things together unless you're using an "alloy platform".
