Runs like clockwork. You can still load in the case, you only need to close it halfway. I lean the semi-enclosed case against the corner of my desk drawer and it works great. However, in order to completely close the case, you need to remove these covers. A small price to pay for how well they hold the headphones in the ear. The difference between day and night. Apple should have designed them with that option in mind.
