Growing up in India, my parents used something very similar to make sandwiches. He toasted the bread enough to give it a panini feel. Driven by nostalgia, I took the plunge and bought this one. It was very poorly designed compared to the ones my parents had and used. The hinge is too tight to open and close is a challenge. Even with a minimal flame, the bread simply sticks to the metal and burns. I even used butter, butter and mayonnaise to keep the bread from burning and sticking, but it's useless. it's 3-4 times, and each time after use I had to clean it with vinegar, salt and baking soda to get rid of the burnt bread. Sometimes I even had to scrape off the burnt part with a knife. It's just not worth it
