This light is great: very bright even white light. I use it on my Brother home sewing machine. LED strips to be placed under the arm of the sewing machine. This light is much brighter, much more even and naturally white in color - fabric colors do not change under this light. It can also be positioned as it is on a gooseneck. The build quality appears to be excellent. It has an on/off switch on the base and a decent length cord with a standard 120V plug. My Brother home machine has a plastic case so the light cannot be mounted directly on it. But you can place the base on any piece of metal (steel for the magnet) that is at least 2 inches square and you now have a table lamp. I put my lamp behind the car, under my arm. For reference, I bought a Razon (ASIN B01MRFPJS4) at the same time. High praise, many users. The LED light is very blue, not many times brighter than Cutex, not uniform, assembly pain, more expensive, can not be switched, but the LEDs shine from the bottom of the device - and you need a USB port. I sent it back. Sometimes personal comparisons are very revealing.
