Not matt black for bar stools

I've been eyeing stools for a long time. They were either too big or too small or too expensive. Many were too short for my chairs. I like my legs to be in line with my hips when I raise my legs. Anything shorter feels uncomfortable - like you might slide off the seat. I had high hopes for this running board even before I saw the dimensions. The black color fits almost everywhere, and the internal memory also convinced me. It arrived in good condition, although I found a lot of sawdust inside. There was a long piece of fabric attached to the inside bottom which I believe was intended to secure the gear box. The box wasn't secured, so it bounced around a lot, but nothing was damaged apart from the sawdust. The legs are easy to assemble with long screws. Having a hex key for my drill press makes such tasks easy. The addition of curved legs not only provided the height I wanted but really makes this piece stand out. Unfortunately, faux leather is very smooth and shiny with little texture. Judging by the photo, it is matte. I probably wouldn't have chosen it if I had known that. To me, that shine makes it cheaper. It also makes your feet and backs of your legs stick to it when it's hot. I use a small folded blanket to cover it until I find something better. Hidden storage is convenient. You can throw in extra pillows, blankets, toys, or better yet, a plastic bag, throw in some ice packs and you've got a cooler on your chair for Super Bowl or Sunday movie night. With a bit of creativity, the underside can be easily transformed into a serving tray. You can even glue the board game to the bottom and store all the game pieces in the stool. Overall I think this footrest is good if you don't expect too much. Lightweight, easy to clean, it serves as both storage and convenience, making it ideal for apartment living or for those with limited space.
