looks cheap and color faded after a few months

I like the music notes and they are in the right size as I expected. The music notes look good when they first arrived. But the chain looks cheap and after I had it on my neck for 4 or 5 months (never took it off in showers), the surface silver color faded away and now I have discarded the chain. The back side of the music notes also got a faded color and now they look yellowish but not silver. Generally speaking, this is a cheap necklace and it looks good for only a few months. You get what you pay for.

I got this for my sister who is in choir. She really likes it. I think the chain it comes with is ugly, but she doesn''t mind it. Cute stocking stuffer for jr high/hs student into choir or band.
