I was wrong

I previously reviewed this VCR and only gave it 2 stars because I thought it was only a few months old had previously held as some The tapes began to act strangely. There is another review of this VCR that mentions the same thing. So I wrote a not so good review about it, bought another Circuit City VCR and immediately ran into the same problem. I found out it wasn't the VCR, it was Macrovision/Copywriting. Some videocassettes emit a signal to prevent them from being illegally copied onto VCRs, and hence the VCRs start behaving strangely. The problem is, that I didn't know it was a problem because I don't dub cassettes. I just rent them out or buy them brand new. But the VHS copywriting convention has gotten so strict that even non-copies are considered copies by Macrovision and the picture becomes all sorts of crap. Especially if you don't connect your VCR directly to your TV. (which I can't because I watch VHS and TV through my computer's LCD monitor, so the only way I can connect it is to my PC's TV tuner) It's not the VCR that's to blame, it's Macrovision. Thanks Macrovision if you will. If you want to make copies onto VHS tapes or just LOOK at the many tapes that are out now like I would like to, you will need to pay either $450-$500 for a "
