Garbage, no treasure

I bought this VCR for my mother for Mother's Day so she can watch old family videos. The machine they sent me didn't work AT ALL. The frame that held the VHS cassette for loading into the machine was damaged and could not even be inserted into the tape. The front panel cover is also no longer attached. The item clearly had many uses and was non-functional. Very disappointing.

Pros
  • The best
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

waste of money.

Do yourself a favor and go to your local furniture store and see if you can get one of those cardboard boxes that look like a VCR. You get the same performance at a fraction of the price. The one I received was in a regular box with minimal padding and was mailed. It was clearly making a lot of noise, and when I plugged it in only the remote worked properly. The VCR does not track the tape properly and the audio has feedback. Unfortunately to get a replacement I would have had to spend evenโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to Use
Cons
  • Quick Start Guide

As advertised.

I have just opened the box and replaced a unit I bought on Craigslist (Mitsubishi) which did not accept my bands without much hassle which I will spare you. Condition was advertised as GOOD and I wouldn't complain if it was advertised as VERY good. I plugged it in without plugging it into a computer and it accepted and ejected multiple VHS tapes with no problem, as well as two different VHS-C adapters. Then I plugged in the device that I use to connect to my computer to convert about 40 tapesโ€ฆ

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black
