Good product but would make a difference

The little round umbrella is easy to pop off and I got this to keep my dog from barking when we're not home but to do that he needs to get electrocuted which he doesn't he just beeps when it's on , it automatically barks collar and doesn't care about the beeping. When there is no other way to set it but I set it to shock and it still just beeps when I'm in auto mode.
