I use this product in an unusual way. I have a 1000 gallon goldfish pond in my backyard. There is a separate box where the filter pump is located. The water drains into the box where it meets the plastic milk carton. I line a milk carton with fibrous media. This fiber is exactly what I need. I was able to cut it with regular scissors to fit the box exactly. When I want to clean the filter, I just take out the plastic box and rinse the filters with a hose. This product is rigid enough to stay flat when upright. Some previous products were too soft to hold their shape, especially the lace which I needed. If you are thinking of a project like mine then this fiber is great!
