Works just as good as the GE Brand.

Purchased this filter to replace a GE MWFP. The GE brand was way too expensive and there are so many other off the market brands to choose from. Bluefall was more than half the price of the GE brand. I decided on this because it's sold in a local hardware store and the reviews were pretty good. The filter fit perfectly in the fridge. I had no issues with the connection. Don't buy! good for me

The only thing good about this is the price. The design is far less superior to the name brand. To me it is not worth saving $20-$30 on a filter every six months to risk damaging your refrigerator in the process. When installing the name brand item it installs with ease and in 2 seconds but when installing this item it installs with extra effort required and isn't as snug of a fit once installed. good price, filtering, and long lasting

I have tried a lot of the GE compatible filters. Some of them filter well, but dont last. Some of them last, but don't appear to filter much. And some are too expensive. This brand seems to filter well, last long, and come at a good price.

Bad taste and particles in water.

This filter left water with a decidedly bad taste. Also left particles in bottom of glass. Just as easy to install as all other MWF filters. I will replace as soon as possible not purchase this brand again.

Just as good as the name brand!

Before this filter I had only used GE filters in my refrigerator since we got it. After spending quite a bit of money on a top quality refrigerator we were scared to get anything other than the name brand filters. Off brand filter save us money, performs the same.

The first time we bought a new replacement filter after buying our new fridge we got hit with sticker shock. Obviously we should have looked when buying the appliance, but we didn't and $50 wasn't anything to sneeze at. Since then we have found the off-brand ones to be as good as the GE one, but usually half the cost or less. Works great after a year!

It works great in our GE! No bad taste but remember your suppose flush it for about 8 cups of water and also the ice should be thrown out. I save my ice before installing so I know when the container is full, toss. It's been over a year since installing, and all is well. I don't use the refrigerator's recommendation to change every 6 months. I think that's a rip off!

Every time I change my fridge's water filter, I have to run water through to rinse out the charcoal. I understand there's dust, but the amount of dust coming out of this filter was unbelievable. We've owned this GE refrigerator for 17 years. I change the MWF filter every 6-12 months. I've never seen water this dark. It was pretty disgusting. Perfect replacement

GE must make a fortune selling replacement water filters. Partly I think because who wants to chance their drinking water to some no-brand Chinese cut-rate filter. I'll chance it and buy a USB cable for a dollar, but my drinking water for six months is kinda important. Well, so far so good with this filter. Perfect fit in our GE signature fridge, seemingly good construction quality. Water and ice taste great.

Seemed to fit but no water came out of dispenser so could not use.

I did not need this replacement yet, but got it ahead of time. It did not have an arrow to line up when installing but seemed to fit. However no water after multiple attempts to install and I had to reuse the one that needed replacing and was removed and then the water came out right away. Wasted money.

Be Careful of Fakes!

I ordered this accidentally in a rush when our filter died. When I had the GE genuine brand we had no issues. With this one we have no ice and barely any water comes through. It’s a small trickle. At half the cost it hasn’t been worth a gazillion times the headache.

Produces clean, pure tasting water

We have a refrigerator that uses a MWF filter and have purchased a variety of generic filters. We switched out to this filter last week and our water tastes great. This filter fits perfectly in our GE Monogram series refrigerator. It decidedly improves the taste of the water that normally get directly from the faucet. In the past I've used the GE made filters and this works at least as well. If you can get these at a lower cost (GE OEM filters tend to be somewhat pricey) then I would certain choose these.

Exact Right Fit: my feedback

It's nice top be able to purchase a refill from someone other than the original manufacturer. It was very easy to install - less than 30 seconds. No tools. Fit my fridge exactly. One caution: read ther installation procedures! One needs to run about 2 gallons of water through the system before the filter is really ready for use; there's gunk (probably charcoal dust) which needs to run through before it's potable.

This filter is easy to install and works just fine with my model of GE side by side refrigerator/freezer.
