Bought 2 seats - 1 for long and one for round toilet. Looks like I should have bought the almond color, but that's my problem, not theirs. The base plate is easy to screw on, the seat is easy to insert and they are easy to adjust. Just tighten the screws as much as possible once the seat fits into the toilet. ULTRA slow closing. For example too slow if your husband left the seat up - you'll want to put it down ;-) Definitely not pop. However, when I first installed my seat, nothing was aligned! Both seats were too short for my toilets (although I was the right size for each toilet) And when the seat was up it hit my tank and wouldn't rise. After a while I realized I had installed the mount the wrong way round! The screw slots go to the tank and the pins go to the bowl. The instructions were ok, I just didn't pay attention to this detail. So if you have a very short bowl or are the wrong size and need a long bowl to fit in a shorter bowl, try flipping the bowl. Clamp around to be back on purpose. There's no harm in trying! The seat is very easy to put on and take off. If necessary, I can take it outside or in the bathtub to rinse it off with plenty of running water. A small bracket cover hides the inevitable line of dirt that always accumulates right around the base. When you're ready to clean that too, the screws screw right in from the top, with no annoying little plastic wings on the bottom - very easy to unscrew for a really deep clean. Now that I've installed them CORRECTLY, I'm very happy with my purchase!
