This Homankit silicone baking mat would probably be good for baking cookies. I have another silicone baking mat that I use for cookies. I bought this one for a very different purpose. I use it to wrap around a hot rifle barrel so I can disassemble a Beretta ARX-100 rifle and store it in a small backpack (actually a 15" notebook PC carrying case). I use the silicone mat as a heat resistant pad to protect my hand, and then I use it as a heat resistant wrap to avoid melting the inside of the nylon backpack when the hot barrel is packed inside. The rubbery silicone sheet is also a great mechanical padding to prevent the barrel from scratching or banging into the rifle's polymer stock and receiver. The silicone baking mat worked even better in this unusual application than I had imagined, and that's usually not the case!
