I am so glad Vantrue didn't go with a suction mount on this dashcam. If you've been frustrated by your dashcam randomly dropping off your windshield you'll be glad to know that Vantrue uses an adhesive to mount this dashcam to your windshield. That's probably not many people's first thought as to what makes a dashcam good but for me it's important that it stays where its supposed to and this one does. Do kudos for this.Another important thing for me is that camera is not readily visible by passersby. I am not as concerned about it being stolen as I was with the suction mounted dashcam that has a more visible profile. When I do remove the dashcam it slides off and on easily and there's zero concern that the mount is going to detach from the windshield.The image quality in dashcams are for the most part all very good. So when it comes right down to it what makes the difference for me is how I interact with the dashcam, whether physically removing it, modifying the settings on the dashcam via the buttons or thru the app, and understanding how to make modifications to settings without ahving to go online and ask people. Vantrue has put a lot of effort into designing the interfaces and that is a plus for me.Getting the camera synced to the Vantrue app on my Android phone was simple, unlike some other networked devices I've had to struggle with in the past.I also purchased the hardwire kit so I don't have to unplug the camera from my cigarette lighter when I leave the vehicle. It was surprisingly simple to do and is an affordable option I'd recommend folks get to make life with a dashcam even easier.
