Essential if you use vinyl records! The bristles of this brush are very soft and fluffy, which makes for a good cleaning. Before playing ANY record, I make sure to use it on my record. As far as I use it, I just turn on my turntable to keep the record spinning and gently run it over the record's grooves so that the bristles of the brush barely touch the record. I rotate it around the platter for a revolution or two, and then gently move it down towards the end of the platter. This removes dust and particles that can get onto the records, resulting in longer stylus life. You should get this when you play a record!
