. static from removing record from sleeve (I recommend Sleeve City cases)

Finally found a brush to remove accumulated dust and static from removing record from sleeve (I recommend Sleeve City cases ), etc. . This isn't meant to replace a good record cleaner like Spin Clean, but it does an excellent job of removing everything from an LP before you play it and/or before you put it back in its case.

Every record enthusiast needs at least one of these

After using this brush before every game, you realize how much dust and dirt is in the air when you in such a short time on your records come period. . This brush effortlessly removes dust and dirt from the surface with one quick turn. The price is of course a bit high, but not too much. Worth it if you play a lot of records and want them clean before playing and storing. Every record lover needs at least one of these.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Best for daily grooming

I use it every time before I play something. This includes turning the pages. That's what it's for. And it does a great job. It's not going to clean up this dirty thrift store find, nor is it intended to. There are other solutions for a more thorough cleaning. It's amazing how much dust this thing can collect and how much dust can accumulate between games. A couple of times in a circle is enough and I use the pen/cover to shake the dust off the brush. After a few years, some of the letteringโ€ฆ

REQUIRED FOR RECORDING

Essential if you use vinyl records! The bristles of this brush are very soft and fluffy, which makes for a good cleaning. Before playing ANY record, I make sure to use it on my record. As far as I use it, I just turn on my turntable to keep the record spinning and gently run it over the record's grooves so that the bristles of the brush barely touch the record. I rotate it around the platter for a revolution or two, and then gently move it down towards the end of the platter. This removes dustโ€ฆ

Poorly processed. It looks like it did 35 years ago, but it's not.

I haven't had a turntable for many years. So I bought this dusting brush shortly after buying a new turntable and was disappointed with how plasticky it was. A few years ago I had one that looked very similar, made from a mix of strong metal, hard plastic and nimble nylon bristles, but the AutdioQuest bush was very different. That brush probably cost the same as it did 35 years ago; However, it is not the same quality. It's cheaply made. It feels very light and fragile. Works well but theโ€ฆ

Very good seems to help

I used it wrong at first but then I read the instructions and started holding it high enough that only the ends of the bristles touch the surface of the plate. Antistatic is VERY effective. I just opened a new record that had so much static between the record and the protective liner that it was really difficult to remove the record. As I pulled it out, I placed the record on top of the paper and felt the paper fly off the stand as the record approached. All it took was a quick pass down bothโ€ฆ

Do not buy it sheds fibers making recordings worse than before

So I just bought a new turntable to play my records which have been in the box for 10 years. I didn't have room for a record player in my old house, but I just moved to a new place where I had a room. I was excited to hear a bunch of records that I had been keeping under wraps for a while. I thought they might be dusty so I bought this brush to clean them. That's how the first LP I played was on white vinyl. I used this brush and started recording only to notice TONS of pops and pops. So Iโ€ฆ
