The addition of UV light is excellent. I had one with no light and love the added UV kill which ozone cannot. The construction is very strong and durable. I expect that with proper care (as detailed in the owner's manual) it will last for thousands of treatments. It can fill a huge room with ozone, so rooms in your house will only take an hour or so - see instructions here too. Remember. : Remove people, plants and pets! Fund is probably fine as long as they're not the kind of surface you can breathe on. I tested it on many smelly sources and it worked on all of them. I haven't tested cat urine, but I'm sure it works just as well. If you are handling a small item, place it in a bag and wrap the bag around the front of the machine. *DO NOT* put the device in a pocket! It will heat up and turn off. My shoes got wet and dry with a musty smell. I wrapped them up, placed the opening of the pouch around the front of the unit and let it run for 30 minutes. It was probably overkill (pun intended), but the smell went away and didn't come back. My mother smokes at home and I have treated the rooms with amazing results. Even if you visit her house, your clothes will smell like smoke, but nothing more. Also, *insects* run away from the smell! You can "detonate the bomb" without the toxic mist covering everything you have. If they run away and live, fine; if they stay and die, fine too. I'm sure it would have the same effect on rodents, but I haven't tested it either. (I also want to test ozone for bed bugs!) These machines are *awesome*! Highly recommended. *DO NOT* breathe in the ozone! However, the person tends to enter the room before becoming O2 again. UV light adds sharpness to the air. A bit of residual ozone isn't so bad: it stings your eyes a bit, but the addition of UV light makes the air charged differently, and if you inhale too much, it causes a persistent burning sensation in your lungs. Again, *DO NOT* breathe the ozone! This is for impatient people who are in a hurry until it's clear so you know what to expect. If you have lung problems, heed the warnings *straight*! Ozone, O3, is 50% more than O2 and if you force yourself to breathe O3 you will scar your lungs. There is *no* benefit to this. If you want to fill your body with O3, buy a water filling device and drink it.
