I've been crocheting since I was eight, so 30 years. I traditionally use aluminum crochet hooks. Last year I developed ulnar nerve disease and had to have surgery to reroute the nerve. I also had to remove part of the ulna. The surgery was on my dominant arm. I found crocheting with aluminum hooks to be tiring for my condition, but I was able to knit with less hand fatigue and pain. Pros: These needles were recommended to me for their smoothness. I prefer smooth needles and these hooks are as smooth as my stainless steel needles. I like that the shaft is smooth. At the bottom of the shaft is a black pen with US size and metric written on it. The case has elastic loops to hold any hook. The hook flap attaches to the back of the case with Velcro (which in my experience wears out after a while). There is an inside pocket with a button for small items. The case folds up and snaps into place. Cons: The tops have a weird pointed pyramid at the top. The needle stinks. Like, really smelly. Super smelly.
