Different types of fabric and uneven layers can be difficult to feed when sewing buttonholes. That's why Janome developed the Hinge Stabilization Plate. This plate works in conjunction with the R buttonhole foot to smoothly feed uneven layers and create consistent and precise buttonholes, even on denim, wool, fleece or stretch fabrics. The fabric is placed between a plate holder (with the buttonhole foot attached) at the top and a metal plate at the bottom to support the fabric during transport. The plate holder also has fabric edge alignment marks for neat stitch placement.
