Review on ISTA I H615 Inline External Heater by Janice Turner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

VERY satisfied so far!

I did a little research before deciding on this product. I read all the reviews and was hoping to get a flawless product as some people claim they are faulty. I've read about pipe sizing and clamping issues that people have reported, so I've prepared. I have a Marineland C-Series canister filter that comes with very thick hoses. The picture of this inline heater shows two sizes of pipe fittings so I figured one would fit. As others have suggested I bought a set of clamps to go with it. I measured all my pipes, just connected and clamped as shown in my photo. After everything was ready, I nervously got the filter pump to cross my fingers to make sure there were no leaks. SUCCESS! Now for the heater itself. I set it to 25 degrees Fahrenheit to give my tropical aquarium a comfortable 77 degree Fahrenheit habitat. I also have a floating thermometer and a digital thermometer that I use to make sure it's still accurate. I kept a close eye on my pipe connections for about 30 minutes and then every hour for the rest of the day, checking temperature and temp each time. Comparison. I was very surprised to see that the floating thermometer in the aquarium and the new heather were EXACTLY the same, 77 degrees. My digital only got 76.3 and 77.4. Not once did it fall or rise a full degree all day! I've also read that some had water flow issues, but my water flows through with the same pressure (by eye, not engineering measurements), very good water flow in my 40 gallon tank. I will give an update after long time use or if any problem arises.
