Perfect size Chain for my needs

In my photo/video studio, most of the light hangs from a steel trellis attached to the studio ceiling. I use this chain to make safety loops to prevent accidentally dropping lights or hanging items. This is a reserve in case something falls out of the steel mesh. The use of safety chains or tethers for this is common in theater stage lighting, so I have used this practice in my studio as well. I also don't have any light stands or cables running across the studio floor. These chains wrap around a steel ceiling grill and fixed part of the studio light using a spring carabiner to connect the ends together. Electrical outlets along each side of the ceiling grid place an outlet every 6 inches and within 5 feet of where I find the light on the grid, so it's also easy to keep power cords on the floor.

Pros
  • Chains
Cons
