Review on ๐Ÿ“ถ High-Speed EDUP PCIe WiFi 6 Card with Bluetooth 5.1: AX3000 Mbps AX200 Dual Band for Desktop Windows 10 64-bit by Brian Schultz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Linux compatible for kernel version 5.1+

Linux compatible for kernel version 5.1 and ax-200 I will see that ax-200 will be supported on Linux from kernel 5.1 as in the Table given here, quoted from Intel website: Note. This table contains only the first official firmware version released, which is guaranteed to work only with the kernel version listed in the table. To get the latest version for newer kernels, use the firmware git tree instead. 46.3cfab8da.0.tgz And although I have a 5.5 kernel on Manjaro Linux I see no reason why this shouldn't work and in fact I can connect to the internet and Bluetooth with my devices. The only thing I haven't tested is my speed. I have yet to know what the speed is so I will test this on Windows and Linux as I have Windows 10 and Manjaro Linux installed on two different drives then I will edit this first report. I'm only using a Wi-Fi 6 card to connect to the internet while writing this review about Manjaro Linux with Opera browser and VPN enabled. NO problems here so far. My joys are connected without problems. But actually I was tired of using a USB Bluetooth dongle and I actually prefer an ethernet connection for the internet so I looked for an inexpensive Bluetooth wireless card solution and since it was $27 for the latest technology , I think why not try. BUT don't rely on this vendor to know or understand their devices or answer questions about Linux as they obviously don't know anything about their own product as mentioned below: Q: Does it work on Linux? Which core? A: This device does not work on Linux, only works on Windows 10 64-bit Posted by EPSKY March 6th, 2020 Q: Ax-200 is Linux compatible, so do you think this card will not work with it? linux? A: This card does not work with Linux, only with Windows 10 64-bit EPSKY from 03/06/2020 Question: How do you deal with the fact that the ax-200 chip is supported under Linux via iwlwifi? Drivers included in Linux since kernel 5.1? A: Hi, this wifi card only support windows 64bit, not work with linux. By EPSKY March 7, 2020 Q: What's the verdict on Linux? Product info says w10, buyer says only w10 64bit, seller says w10, linux and chromeos? What is that? Answer: Hello, this network card works fine with the 64-bit version of Windows, but only with some versions of Linux and Chromeos. By EPSKY January 27, 2020 Q: Does it work on Windows 10 32-bit? Drivers not working for some other similar n/w cards, can you confirm I don't need to go back? A: Hello, this Wi-Fi 6 network card only supports Windows, Linux, Chrome OS 64-bit. Windows 10 32-bit is not supported. By EPSKY January 06, 2020 Q: Do I really need to use the driver from zedup.com? After all, it's only an Intel Ax200 board, so why not let Windows use the Intel drivers? Answer: Yes, you can use the Intel driver. The EDUP driver is inherited from the original Intel driver. They are equal. By EPSKY February 14, 2020 Although they say that the Intel specific Wi-Fi driver is suitable for their card, they do not know that Intel offers support through the iwlwifi driver that comes with every version of Linux and every version of Linux shipped using kernel 5.1 or later has native support for ax-200. Completely plug and play. I literally turned my computer off, installed the device and USB cable for bluetooth on the motherboard and booted into Manjaro and there it was. Here is the abbreviated output of inxisudo inxi -Fxzmc0Network:Device-1: Realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Vendor: Gigabyte Driver: r8169 v: Kernel Port: e000 Bus ID: 05:00.0IF: enp5s0 Status: Speed increase: 1000 duplex Mbps: full mac: <filter> device-2: intel wifi 6 ax200 driver: iwlwifi v: kernel port: bus id e000: 08:00.0if: wlp8s0 status: up mac: < filter> Again as soon as I will run speed tests on Linux and Windows and report my results. But even if I don't get the same speeds over Wi-Fi on Linux, I don't care, I'm using Ethernet entirely and just want Bluetooth to work as expected. First update: My ISP provided Eero only supports AC WiFi. Connections aren't AX, so I can't fully test the speed of this card. However, after a software update that was expected for eero, I get 200-300Mbps. Runs on Linux kernel 5.1+
