My kids are obsessed with straws, but I've stopped buying disposables because of their environmental impact. It's great and my kids love all the designs. These are not durable plastics that will last forever, but they should last a long time. I have very hard plastic bottles that I can wash in the dishwasher but they don't. I accidentally put one in the dishwasher and the design totally messed up the design - it just stretched everything. They are very narrow which means they are not very easy to clean. I try to rinse them out as soon as my kids are done using them, but when I can't I soak them in hot water for a while and rinse them out. I can poke a small brush about an inch into the top, that helps a little. I'm sure there are flexible little brushes that work with them, but haven't put much effort into finding them.
