When I got my bike I had my eye on hard bags for a while but finally decided they just weren't worth more than $1000 so I bought them. I think I made the right choice. One of the reasons I got rid of my last bike was because I wasn't riding enough, and one of the main reasons was that every time I had to go into town (45+ miles) I had to buy groceries. These bags are not only strong enough, they can also take a beating! I'm a fairly budget conscious shopper and can easily get $70 or more worth of groceries in it, and I didn't even use the extra space you get by unzipping it. The zippers are big and strong. They also fold fairly flat when empty so they don't always hang around. The suitcases are cheap but they hold up well empty or full and do a good job of keeping pockets clean. I had to get creative to figure out how to fit them to my Tiger 800 but they are there. Very glad I bought them
