I bought this set to strain hommade yogurt. The mesh is fine enough that absolutely no perceptable solids pass through it. It should be excellent for any kind of fine kitchen straining you may do. As a yogurt filter, these work excellent. The downside is that they are somewhat difficult to clean becuse a small amount of the yogurt curd gets trapped in the sewn together seam edges. The mesh would work better for this job if it were one continuous piece. I don't know if this is an issue when straining almond milk or whaterver else though the bags. I also would have appreciated if the drawstrings were stretchy so that it was easier to tie them tightly around the top of a container. They can be tied tightly enough to hold onto a lip on the container but will slide on smooth sided vessels.Overall, they are a useful tool for the job I bought them for. There aren't perfect, but they work excellent and are a good value.
