I was hesitant to purchase this project because of the negative reviews, but I'm glad I trusted my intuition and ordered it anyway. Any complaints I see in other reviews seem to be user error. Below is my troubleshooting guide: 1. If the markers aren't as visible (well, white) as you'd like, press the button harder. The strength of your fingers determines whether a label is good or bad.2. If the label maker is stuck, open the drawer, pull out the ribbon and reset it by pressing the spacebar. Then re-cut.3. I usually put two spaces before and two spaces after each word I type, then trim the label with scissors. That way my label won't get dented. I have had no issues with this product and am already using a second roll of label tape. Another piece of advice I can give is to take your time. If you spin the dial quickly, you run the risk of it jamming or not stopping completely on the letter you want, making the embossing less noticeable. But then again, even if you block it, it's easy to fix.
