Review on Ecoline Liquid Watercolor Brush Pen Painting, Drawing & Art Supplies by Michelle Langley

A little help for the customer, the names of the colors in this set are in English from top to bottom: Pastel Red, Light Sepia, Apricot, Beige and Flesh. This is not a set of pink pencils that go from light to medium to dark. The packaging says these pens are made in Germany, but I didn't know Ecoline was a Japanese company. This is very misleading on a calligraphy font box as I haven't found that the colors need to be well matched to create beautiful gradients with calligraphy. The tips are good, but you absolutely have to use "smooth" paper (meaning marker paper, not drawing paper) and it's too juicy if you want to practice over tracing paper, the ink soaks in, it's just too runny. The brush tip flows well, but they need to hire a professional colorist to improve their color suggestions. These colors are really a big disappointment, really the color quality I would find in a kids magic marker, no pretty colors that are elegant or sophisticated. Considering they are $5 each, I would expect a much higher quality pigment.
