Lights up great and stays on for maybe 10 seconds in between hits so works great for playing at night. I think with a single bounce it stays on for 30 seconds but after regular play it seems to go off after 10 seconds which is better in my mind cause it saves the battery. Overall it is a great product, I've had it for about two weeks and no problems. We got it dirty/muddy from playing in the rain and it cleaned up really easy with water and a rag. If there is a downfall I would say that it is a little harder than most volleyballs as it seems to be made from a rubber type material it says Nylon wound on it but it is a soft rubber feel. You can see slight off balance when hitting it at certain times but does not affect the playability of it. My family loves it and we are buying another to have for travel. GREAT PRODUCT
