Bought this thermometer to replace an old mercury pocket thermometer and was disappointed. In the morning 31F the thermometer showed 45F. In my house the 63F thermometer read 75F. It seems all the pocket thermometers featured at Revain use the same technology and I don't want to keep trying to find one that works so I'll search eBay for an old mercury pocket thermometer. Daniel Fahrenheit invented the alcohol thermometer in 1709 and the mercury thermometer in 1714. Three hundred years later, one would think that accurate thermometers would be child's play.
