Very nice patterns on these plates but the size was the more important reason I chose them. They are much smaller than the typical US dinner plate, but still have more than enough room for a decent sized sandwich/chips, eggs/toast, salad or an entree. Portion Control Goals! The cymbals themselves are beautifully finished and have a smooth finish throughout. The patterns might seem a bit overused when you're serving an elaborate dessert, but I like to look at something interesting while eating.
