This UV stick is lightweight and compact. I only felt the need for such a product due to the current pandemic situation, hoping that it would give me peace of mind when traveling. Requires 4 AA batteries which are not included. The on/off button is the only button on the probe and works with one click. The process is very simple: insert batteries, turn on the probe, hold it 2 to 4 inches above the surface to be disinfected. and move it around the whole area for about 10-20 seconds, let the light go out in each area for at least 5-10 seconds, and you're done. Just a simple process you can use to clean the surface from germs. It's very quiet and doesn't make any noise. The user manual says that the product is suitable for the kitchen and can also be used for personal care items such as combs, toothbrushes and other similar items. But I personally don't intend to use it in the kitchen. I mainly ordered this to use when traveling to sanitize items. ***** I am only deducting two stars for the following reason. seconds is great. The only thing I don't know about this wand is that it actually kills germs. It is not possible to determine whether an item has been disinfected or what percentage of the disinfection is complete. I wish it had some sort of indicator showing the progress of the disinfection during and after the process. With this product I just have to believe blindly that in 10-20 seconds all germs are gone. Hm. does it really work and kill bacteria and viruses? I'm not sure.
