Review on Dougs Headers D570 R Exhaust Firebird by Omar Austin

Before ordering I called Dougs Headers to be absolutely sure I didn't have any ride height issues or the frame or tie rod, oil filter etc would fit my machine which was a 1978 Firebird gearbox with 6X heads is. I took them to the body shop for installation and lo and behold they would not install as they touched the engine mount cross member. The handlebars also need improvement. Haven't spoken to the Dougs headers yet, but since it's been 90 days since ordering, I'm assuming they can't be returned. In addition, they have been painted with a high temperature corrosion resistant coating which will likely void the warranty, if any. Not exactly thrilled since they cost around $600. Buyer Warning. After a thorough review and research to avoid this exact issue, I now need to change the engine mount cross member and tie rod. Glad I work in the engineering department.
