I was looking for a larger pan for pancakes. I bought it because the rear guard and fat chute design caught my attention. The size is comfortable. It's easy to make four pancakes at once. If you have a gas range like mine with a "high cook" burner in the center, the center grill will get hotter. Placing food the same distance from the center will cook it more evenly. This probably works best if you can place it over two burners. I've used it twice for pancakes and found it easy to clean.
