Review on RL HM011A Tachometer Replaceable Snowmobile Waterproof by Avery Sharma

This works on my Honda lawn mower

My Honda lawn mower was slow and difficult to start. I found a YT video showing how to adjust the governor spring to speed up or slow down the motor. It was also said that the revs should be set between 2950 and 3100 rpm. So I experimented with the mount and made it run a little faster and was very happy with it. But this is a recreational mower so I had no idea what the actual engine RPM was. I chose this tachometer because of my engine. I warmed up the lawn mower and then turned on the meter. I will say that wrapping the wire around the candle wire is not the easiest thing. The wire for the rear of the wheelbarrow is kind of hard and doesn't want to stay wrapped. The spark plug wire doesn't help because it's very short and the engine was hot (remember I already warmed it up). Next time I might use a clothespin to secure it, but I was finally able to get it to stay on the wire for a few turns. Glad I measured because I was running at 3800-3900 rpm. When I connected the cable, the readings I got were in the 1900s, but I knew I was going faster. So I knew I had to change the default settings. I'm pretty sure running my motor 30% faster than spec is not good for long-term motor performance, so I'm hovering at 3k right now. This device helped me get the most out of my lawnmower, so I bought a Honda to start with. One star off because the wire is too stiff to hold easily, but other than that I'm happy with it. Oh, and it has a user-replaceable battery, which is important to me as I only plan on using it once or twice a year. Mine comes with the battery disconnected so I had to put the battery in for it to work. But I prefer this to a sealed device that I used once before the battery died.
