I bought this product to clean and hopefully prevent iron stains in my bathroom toilet. The inside of the tank was almost black from 65 years of accumulated rust stains and the stains seeped into the bowl resulting in dark streaks running down the inside of the bowl. They seemed to come back as soon as I cleaned them. I bought this product in the hope that if I could remove the rust stains from the inside of the tank it would prevent the bowl from staining as quickly. I read that the inside of the tank will look white, almost like new. I was skeptical. But it works VERY well. I followed the directions and added 1/2 cup of powder to the reservoir before bed. When I looked into the aquarium the next morning, the water was very cloudy. I flashed a few times and saw that the sides of the tank appeared to be a bit lighter but still very dark. So I repeated the second night. The next morning the water was not as cloudy as the day before but still quite dark. I decided to clean the inside of the tank just in case. After that the water was just as cloudy as the day before. However, the inside of the tank was now very light grey. So I repeated the treatment on the third night. That did it! Now the stains are almost gone. The inside of the tank is almost snow white, and in the week since I finished cleaning, the bowl has stayed snow white. Now I can't wait to try it to remove rust stains from the bottom of my fabric shower curtains. Nothing else I've tried so far has worked.
