It's not true! The entire tool (socket plus hex head) is actually half that length, about 2.2 inches. I chose this product because (as described) I expected and needed the extra 4.4" of clearance to access the countersunk hex screw and this short tool is useless to me. Granted, the entire package, which includes those pesky plastic holders for hanging from a store display, is of the advertised length, but lacks the tooling if you've removed the plastic backing and want to use it. Misrepresented sizes are better advertised as package sizes than product sizes. I wasted my money. .
