In almost 20 years of PC work, I've never come this close to throwing the entire system out the window in a fit of rage. I bought it because I used to have a Hyper 212 and liked it, but my new system uses a microATX case and it was the biggest cooler I could fit in that case. Mounting pins are complete nonsense. One of them broke off, the other still cannot be screwed in completely. The stock Intel pins are easy to install and remove with no hassle, and they look almost identical to them. So why was this such a disgusting experience? about 36°). The only thing that improved was the charging temperature, which went from 87-90°C (horrible) to 67°C (better, but far below expectations). I bought this because the stock 10700 cooler allowed my core temp to hit 90C. Play Borderlands 3 or use Photoshop and it bothered me. This cooler solves that problem, but now I have a whole new concern that it might accidentally pop out of the motherboard because I'm not at all sure about the mounting pins. I'll probably have to try to get it back because it's not worth the hassle. What a nondescript, disappointing piece of junk.
