Review on πŸ’ͺ Intel Core i5-3570 Quad-Core Processor: Fast 3.4 GHz Speed and 6 MB Cache for High-Performance Computing - LGA 1155 Compatible (BX80637I53570) by Micha Poklkowski ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I recommend to buy, the product is of high quality.

I am the owner of this processor (i5 3570k) for 2 months. Opinion was mixed. Switching to it from Phenom x4 9550 (+ new platform Z77) I did not notice ANY difference in the speed of regular programs (Internet, Office, multimedia). Even in games (3D) there is no progress in speed (FPS). Everything depends on the video card (AMD HD5570). On Crysis, the FPS is the same when using both of these processors. Crysis 2 and Crysis3 perform (in terms of FPS) exactly the same or even better. It turns out that in order to get a higher refresh rate, it's enough just to buy a more modern video card and not bother with ating the entire platform. The stump is clear, FPS - 20-40 frames with anti-aliasing disabled may not suit someone, but exceeding the speed of i5 3570k over PHenomx4 9550 by 4 (!) Times DOES NOT BRING any additional FPS when using the same video card! Therefore, I consider the transition from ancient platforms (2022) justified to Ivy Bridge only from the moral side (like - outdated). These ancient platforms are quite pulling Crysis 3 (not at maximum settings). Speaking of the maximum settings: during the game, there is no noticeable difference between the maximum and minimum settings, unless you specifically stop and carefully look at the surrounding landscape. Of course, it can be impressive if the square tiles of the floor on which you run, the urine of adversaries, do not have 4 lines, but 6, or the leaves on the trees do not have a clear shape, but such realistically expressed details only complement the idea of the game (do not throw boots, you yourself constantly I wander around the game world and look at all sorts of curiosities). According to the temperature, I can say that on the Phenom x4 9550 it was 27 degrees at rest (48 degrees under load), on the i5 3570k - 39 degrees and 68 degrees. Cooler IceHammer 4405 with FLAT sole (with distributor). And this is with a thermal package of 95 and, accordingly, 69 watts (3570k does not give the declared 77 watts). It also adds to the fog that at a load of 1% (3570k), the power drops to 7-9 watts.

Pros
  • Compared to Sandy Bridge - the memory frequency bar has been released (1333 MHz), the most significant improvement, you can use memory up to a frequency of 3200 (if the motherboard allows).
Cons
  • Increased stone temperature by 10 degrees (again compared to core i5 2500k according to reviews) compared to Phenom x4 9550 (first generation).
