I'm a new mom so I bought three different brands of silicone bibs like this when my daughter really started eating herself - and the result is a mess! After more than 6 months of daily use, this brand has become my favorite. For comparison, I'll cite two other brands I've bought and tried: OXO Tot and Tommy Tippee. Right out of the box I noticed that this brand of bibs is the most comfortable to touch - the silicone is stretchy and smooth, has a nice weight and "gives" when fastened. The Tommee Tippee seems fairly stiff in comparison, doesn't stretch or flex, and is lighter in weight too. They don't hang down as much or have the same deep or wide pocket. In addition, Tommee Tippee are not so easy to attach. That being said, the Tommee Tippees were very reasonably priced (sold in pairs - I bought them here as an 'extra') and folded nicely and compactly, making them a worthy choice for travel or 'spare' storage. I just hand wash them with dish soap and hot water and hang them to dry by tapping them on tightening the doorknob of my dishwasher or oven. Not so with the OXO Tot bibs. as the upper part is made of comfortable waterproof fabric with velcro closure. and silicone bottom pocket. But they don't hold up to repeated washings at all! Although they are always hand washed, OXO bibs look worn. The velcro doesn't hold as well anymore, and the entire "fabric" part feels stiff and crunchy to the point where it starts to audibly crackle. To make matters worse, they were very difficult to wash and dry. I had to scrub the fabric part to remove certain products and rinse and wring a few times to get rid of the soapy water. When I tried this, air bubbles formed in the layers of fabric. The fabric takes a lot longer to dry so I was glad I had other brands of bibs while I waited for them to dry. Also, when the fabric portion of the OXO bibs dried out (hanging), the water ran down and pooled in the silicone portion of the pocket, requiring me to regularly pour out while the bibs were drying. It may not seem like a big deal, but it gets annoying when you have to do it over and over, multiple times a day, day after day. And why bother when you can buy them, just wash and hang dry? They are so durable and the silicone is of such quality that I can wipe them down quite often with a clean damp sponge or baby wipe!
