I bought these "Pot Strainers" because I was tired of burning my hands with steam. I used to have to use a lid or colander to strain, but not anymore! Not only did these clip-on filters save my burned hands, they solved the problem perfectly! I have used them on a number of different sized pans and saucepans with one or two handles and they have worked. The clips open quite wide and will securely cling to the rim of the pot/pan whether it has a rimmed lid or not. I've used them to strain boiled/boiled potatoes, spaghetti and ravioli and nothing has fallen out of the pot down the drain. (Of course I'm careful when turning the pot/pan upside down.) They're EASY to clean too! I can recommend these silicone filters without reservation!
