Review on Efeng Candy Thermometer Probe Clip by Dan Venegas

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The thermometer thinks it's a special snowflake.

As far as I can tell this thermometer is accurate and very easy to clean. Unfortunately, it doesn't help much when the device decides not to work, which it does half the time, and stubbornly refuses to switch from the unilaterally set Celsius setting to the Fahrenheit setting. Said obsessive/deviant/unruly thermometer was supposed to withstand temperatures of up to 450°F, but the underside of the spatula tip was burned and now looks perpetually dirty. Burning isn't exactly new to my kitchen, but this time, and a few others that are hotly debated depending on who's telling the story, I can definitely blame the thermometer. Combined with a bad attitude, the thermometer is of little use and nothing more than an ordinary bat. Working with the chip on the shoulder of this thermometer distracts me from defeating the gods of kitchen fires and smoke detectors, putting my entire neighborhood at risk. What I liked the most about the non-cooperation in writing this review, and that's because it's safely tucked away in a box where terror reigns. And maybe because my stove and oven are off. If you are thinking of buying, think again!
