The cage itself is great, can't fault the company for our fancy mice slipping easily between the bars. I took a chance with the cage and hoped there would be enough space between the bars to accommodate the mice. Both the young mouse and the adult mouse escaped, so I wouldn't risk this particular cage if you're looking for house mice. I can't talk to other rodents. The cage itself is spacious, the tubes are easy to disassemble and reassemble. We have 2 of these cages and connected them to each with the hoses provided. Between the two cages they had plenty of space to explore and play. Mice climb onto the grate, eliminating the need to run pipes all the way to the floor. I like the larger size of the tubes and the fact that they are transparent. I can easily see mice and also see when they need cleaning. We had to switch to a Kaytee cage and tubes and aren't that happy with them. The tubes are harder to disassemble and the cage is much smaller. We still connected 2 cells, but the total space is definitely reduced. Unfortunately, we can't spend another 12 hours chasing house mice behind the cupboards. It must be Katie.
