Bought to speed up the drive

I bought this optional module to speed up my 8TB secondary drive. I saw a video about how easy it is to speed up your drive if you have an 8th gen Intel processor and decided to give it a try. I installed the module, went through the setup process and now my drive is running faster! After power cycling my system, I open the Intel Optane application and see that it is about to remove the Optane memory from my system. I didn't initiate this at all and I'm not sure what's going on. I'm waiting for the process to complete, but it only takes about 8 hours to load. It finally ends and my system reboots. My secondary drive is no longer recognized by Windows. After changing the SATA port on my hard drive and removing the Optane module, I can see my files and it's the same as if Optane was never installed. I decide to try again and the same thing happens when it just turns off but without 8 hours. Seeing that it can't stay on when I turn off my computer, I kill the Optane process and take it out of my computer. A few weeks go by and while I'm reinstalling Windows I'm checking Intel's website on how to prepare my system for optana with the necessary drivers. I begin the tedious process of modifying my Windows Installer ISO with Intel drivers and reverting to Intel Optane. Since I'm having the exact same issue, I'm sending the drive back to Intel as they don't have any additional troubleshooting methods. I'm awaiting my replacement as I write this and intend to update my review when the replacement module works properly. I gave this one star as the process was supposed to be easy, but it turned into a process that brought risks to my files and a lack of clear guidance from Intel Customer Support.
