I've owned several styles of MAC knives over the years. They were reliable and among the best knives I have ever owned. My previous chef's knife lasted almost 10 years. This product I received was not of the same quality as previous chef knives. It started to rust on the first day of use. Of course I followed all the instructions and cleaned and stored it properly. My old MAC knives have never rusted. About a week ago I was slicing fresh carrots and the tip of the blade broke off immediately (about 4 weeks after my first use). Either the blade was faulty or the blade was made from a lower quality material than previous MAC knives. I am VERY disappointed in this purchase.
