Fits perfectly in our fireplace and gives the room a lovely cozy warm feel. Very realistic looking flames. We don't use the heating function, although we will in the future. He could quickly heat up a room. When we turned on the heater, there was an unpleasant smell, which I think is due to how new parts react to heat. This will probably dissipate over time if we decide to use it for heating. The recorded "crackling" doesn't sound entirely authentic, probably because it's not a particularly fancy speaker, so we won't be using that feature at all. However, we're very happy with the fit and look - it's a great addition to a room and is visually very soothing to frayed nerves in these crazy times. In this price range, the price-performance ratio is right.
