Like everyone in this pandemic have or know or have someone in my house who wanted to start a podcast. It was one of the first products to appear in the search for a "simple USB microphone". He fits that description perfectly. I can't remember exactly how much we paid (about $70 I think?) but it was just what we needed. It's simple, easy to use, no fancy frills and has worked well with our Windows computer so far (just haven't tried it on other operating systems). The USB cable is long enough to place the microphone in a comfortable position even if you can't sit directly at your PC/laptop. It worked without installing drivers, software or downloads. We plugged it in and our computer immediately recognized it as an "input" audio device. For a few minutes I was concerned that nothing was actually installing because the software was so automatic and hidden that I didn't even see "Install Drivers". jump out. I just plugged it in and after 5 seconds it was working and recognized. The sound quality was amazing. The only issues with our podcast were our lack of audio editing skills and the quality of our computer software. The mic has nothing to do with it - it definitely puts the rest of our amateur setups to shame. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a great "basic" microphone for interviews or if you need to capture professional audio. Since it's fairly stationary (the base is very solid, fairly heavy, and doesn't tip over) I wouldn't think it's very portable or good for gaming. I think a headset is suitable for this purpose. But if you're sitting at a desk or a desk and want to capture a sound while turning your head in the same area, this mic is perfect. The microphone instructions specify a fairly wide "angle" that will provide the clearest sound pickup. So far this has worked flawlessly and very little (if any) background noise has been detected. The toilet flushing in the next room, the dogs barking downstairs, the crying baby in the hallway, none of that caught the mic - it just picked up the sound aimed at that 'corner' I mentioned a few sentences ago. .While I say "simple" microphone and I think that this is the "cheaper" side of the cost of equipment in general, this product is by no means "cheap". It's durable, well built and appears to be of much higher quality than the price we bought it for. Note: There are no buttons on the mic (recording volume, mute, power on/off are some buttons I've seen on other mics), but we didn't want/need them for our purposes. Keep that in mind when purchasing if you're looking for this functionality. The 10/10 mic fits our amateur needs perfectly and will likely work well in more professional settings as well.
